Come and try the new surf fashion, Stand up paddle or SUP. It's a fun, easy sport for all the family for all ages. Discover the feeling of a relaxing cruise in the Algarve, watching at the crystal clear water, a good training session, or just take a board and ride great waves on the West Coast. If you have never tried it, we can teach you how to do it. In a few minutes you'll be able to stand on the board.

Our quality lesson covers the finer aspects on theory, weather assessment, beach hazards, posture, balance, endurance, equipment advice, basic water rescue, critical decision making, etiquette and emphasis on safety.

Our courses consist of three phases:

1. SUP Beginner     2. SUP intermediate     3. SUP Wave

1. SUP Beginner - 1,5 Hour

This is lesson is an introduction to stand up paddling. Our goal is to provide you with the basic techniques needed to safely paddle a stand up board. You will leave the lesson with all the skills necessary to paddle with confidence and safety, maintained standing on the board and paddle back to the starting point.
The entire lesson is conducted in calm, flat waters (ocean or lagoons/river). It is important for new paddlers to begin in relatively relaxed conditions. These conditions allow us to focus on the important elements of board, paddle and stroke. As a beginner, you can never get enough flat water paddle time. Remember, the more you paddle, the better you get!

1.1 General explanation of the origin and development of the SUP
1.2 Advantages and benefits of this sport to physical and emotional level. Respect for the environment.
1.3 Disciplines and activities of the SUP (cruise, waves, long distance, downwind...)
1.4 Technical explanation in land, up to the board, the board positioning, paddling strained, paddling knees lifted, paddling standing. Correct body position, arms and legs.
1.5 And out to the water
1.6 Balance in water (stretched, sitting and standing)
1.7 First Strokes
1.8 Basic rotation

2. SUP Intermediate - 1,5 Hour

On this lesson our goal is to provide you be self-sufficient for practicing SUP safely and with the maximum of knowledge. It is extremely important that after this lesson you can go out on any spot and practice by yourself. Again, the entire lesson is conducted in calm, flat waters (ocean or lagoons/river).

2.1 Explanation and characteristics of the different materials of this sport (boards, paddles, and leashes)
2.2 Choice of material appropriate depending on height, weight, desired program, area use, knowledge, etc...
2.3 Different techniques to carry a SUP board
2.4 Polished technique of strokes, shoulders, body, and leg position
2.5. Various techniques of rotation, variants.
2.6 Techniques of balance in water (Freestyle)

3. SUP WAVE - 1.5 Hour

On this lesson our goal is to acquire sufficient knowledge to take waves. The lesson on this level is to be conducted on any beach with small and mellow waves to start with (South or West Coast).

3.1 Observation and selection of the wave.
3.2 Positioning standby
3.3 Launched synchronization
3.4 Initial positioning
3.5 Positioning to start the wave
3.6 Use of the paddle in waves
3.7 Spin technique
